Field trip day!!

 Last week Amelia and I got to go on our first field trip since the before times. It was so much fun! Riding the bus with her and her little friends, it never gets old. Soaking up every one of these, in case soon, she does not want mom tagging along.

Weaning

 So much to say, I don’t even know where to begin… The last baby, the last time…

Truthfully I doubt I will know when the real, actual, very last time happens. I, we, are working on it though. It is so very bittersweet.

 Finally getting rid of the last stitches of carpet, after 13.5yrs. Daddy is our hero!

Santa Cruz Quick Trip

 Daddy had a golf tournament, so we all got to tag along. First road trip for Bluey the Blue Van.

Basic

 Maybe the collective act of lighting out fall smelling candles, and switching from iced to hot coffee (or maybe even gasp! A PSL) maybe we are using out collective magic to summon fall. I am praying for rain to quench the land. Praying for cooler, more comfortable weather. I can feel the crisp chill coming. 

Maybe when we do this, we are tapping into that which has sustained us as a species. We, the ones who grow and nurture the next generation, the ones who literally do the labor of bringing the future to life. Maybe we can harness that drive for collective comfort and ease in our own homes and lives, and push it forth to the rest of the world. May we all know peace. 

And just maybe, when we are derided by being called “basic” for longing for the sweet simplicity of enjoying the changing of the seasons, it is yet another attempt to diminish our collective power.

Not-stagram

The best camera is the one you have with you. Thankfully, phone cameras have come a long way! I’m no longer going to hesitate to capture the moment because I don’t have my “good” camera with me. 

I love taking photos, always have, always will. Doing so helps me remain mindful, grounded in the present, and filled with gratitude. And I’m excited to use my site to share my daily glimmers and glows.

I’ve been aching to share, and yet refused to allow myself to be exploited by some algorithm. I am hopeful that his can be a place to pour my creativity, and maybe share it too.

2020 UPDATE

I’d like to thank all of my clients for the support through the years. In Aug 2020 my family will be welcoming our third baby, and under the circumstances of having a newborn, homeschooling two older kids, and a global pandemic I have decided to take the remainder of 2020 off from photography. I wish everyone good health and happiness in these uncertain times. Take care!

I want to thank you all for your continued support, it's been a great Spring season.  I will be out of town enjoying Summer vacation with my family for the month of July, and not taking any session until Mid-August.

I also I want to give you a heads up that session prices will be increasing this year, you can see the new rates posted on my pricing page here. If you'd like to secure my current rate for your fall family photos, you can do so by booking and paying your deposit July 31, 2019.
