2020 UPDATE

I’d like to thank all of my clients for the support through the years. In Aug 2020 my family will be welcoming our third baby, and under the circumstances of having a newborn, homeschooling two older kids, and a global pandemic I have decided to take the remainder of 2020 off from photography. I wish everyone good health and happiness in these uncertain times. Take care!

I cannot believe my big boy is now six years old! He is the most amazing big brother, he will be going into first grade this year. He has learned so much in the past year, including how to read! He was first in his kindergarten class to make it through his sight words, he LOVES his tablet and loves to play video games. He took his first out of town trip without mom and dad this summer, went with his Nana and Papa to Legoland to celebrate his birthday. He is funny and smart and silly. Emmit is a natural athlete who in the past year did urban gymnastics, soccer, and t-ball. He is sweet and loves to snuggle with us. His favorite thing to do is wrestle with dad, pick up sister, and he likes his sleep (with his pokey and stanley seahorse). Sometimes his favorite word is "no", and every day he asks us "what's for desert?" I am so lucky that this amazing boy calls me "mamma".

I can not believe my little baby has turned 4! To celebrate his birthday we took a trip to the Santa Cruz Boardwalk, and while we were there we had a fun birthday treasure hunt (aka photo shoot - sometimes you have to get creative to get kids to cooperate;P)

Though this images is far from technically perfect, it is a full circle moment in my life that truly represents "motherhood". This is my 3 year old son Emmit gazing lovingly at his great grandmother, my Grandma Millie. She is an amazing woman who was an integral part of raising me. Being a child of divorce, I split time between my mom and dad's houses, and Gram's house was literally in the middle. We saw her every day, came home to her after school, and she really was my third parent.  She will be 94 years old in October, and is suffering from Alzheimer's disease. Visits are always pleasant, though sometimes she knows exactly who we are, and sometimes we are kind strangers. Regardless, I feel blessed that my son gets to know my Gram.
